The journey in life for women is a long one. From becoming a friend, wife, and mother - the journey takes many different turns. The healthcare professionals at Douglas Women’s Center understand your journey and offer a caring approach to women’s health and emotional needs.
Our unique environment provides state-of-the art services for both primary care and obstetrical-gynecological care allowing a woman’s journey to be fulfilled at one place.
Good nutrition, exercise, cancer prevention, regular checkups and the promotion of a healthier lifestyle are the focal points of DWC. That total care package has allowed Douglas Women’s Center to remain the leader in women’s health in West Atlanta.
What to Expect at DWC
Because a woman’s journey is a challenging one, Douglas Women’s Center provides safe, sensitive, satisfying care from a patient’s first gynecological exam through her senior years.
The extraordinary talents of the care-givers of DWC afford a big advantage for women. The practice offers: in-house labs including pap smears, CBC’s, urinalysis, cholesterol screening, etc., hormone studies, mammography, ultrasound, incontinence evaluation, infertility studies, artificial insemination, laser treatments, colposcopy as well as hysteroscopy. We offer complete obstetrical care including in-house ultrasounds with video, fetal monitoring, glucose testing, amniocentesis and breast feeding classes.
The journey for women does not end here. DWC employs nurse-midwives who provide personalized care for low risk women during their pregnancy, delivery and postpartum health care. The nurse-midwives focus on wellness, encouraging women to make informed choices about their health care.
Our educational specialist, Nancy Green, is committed to community teaching, particularly focused on teen awareness.
We also offer a complete business staff to accommodate your insurance needs including an Obstetrical and Surgical coordinator.
This “one stop shopping” facility truly allows a woman’s journey to be less exhausting.
