On November 16th, 2000, I was divorced from my husband of three years. During the course of and as a direct result of that brief union, I was able to fulfill my goals of starting my own law practice, purchasing a nice home, and enjoying some of the luxuries of life that I had forgone to pursue a law degree. Most significantly, I was blessed with the birth of my son, now three years of age. I had it made
or, so I thought.
Then the walls caved in. I was getting a DIVORCE. With the "BIG D" came shame, embarrassment, separation, anxiety, anger, frustration, depression and worst of all, financial hardship. How could I maintain on one income what had taken two incomes to build?
The blessings derived from the "BIG D" were greater appreciation of SELF and a strong will to survive despite the obstacles. My practice is flourishing, my new home is smaller, yet just right for my son and me, and my son has adjusted to the separation and is, in fact, enjoying having his mom and dad to himself.
So, I can relate! My personal experiences have allowed me to relate to my clients on a different level. Disappointment, depression, loss, anger and all of the other range of emotions are not unique to divorce clients. My experiences have also allowed me to empathize with my personal injury clients, probate and legal guardianship clients, etc.
The decision to hire an attorney is usually necessitated by an unfortunate or painful experience. While resolving your legal issues is pivotal to my representation, I also see it as my responsibility to help you to see the light at the end of the tunnel. From my standpoint, we are in this together!
I have two extremely sharp and wonderful legal assistants:
