Meet Dr. Ricotta & Staff          

Dr. Patrick Ricotta grew up in a suburb of Buffalo, N.Y., and attended Saint Bonaventure University, where he earned his 4-year premedical degree in biology. He then spent 4 years in medical school at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine located in Cleveland, Ohio. He was honored with the Marvin Shapiro Podiatric Surgery award for outstanding performance in surgery at graduation from medical school.

After medical school, he attended a 3-year residency in foot and ankle surgery in Pittsburgh, PA. His residency included extensive training in all aspects of both medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. During residency, he completed rotations in several aspects of surgery, including vascular, plastic, orthopedic, and diabetic limb salvage.

During his residency, he was involved in numerous research projects, which resulted in publications in medical journals distributed nationwide. He is currently working on another research project in conjunction with the hospital's physical therapy department, which will be submitted for publication in the near future.

Dr. Ricotta has also lectured on numerous topics in foot and ankle surgery at many seminars all over the country. His most recent lecture was the presentation of this most recent research project at the National Podiatric Medical Seminar in Houston, Texas.

Initially after residency, he practiced in Fayetteville for a short period of time until he relocated to Lumberton where he has practiced since 1997.

MIRANDA RUSS (Office Manager)                    

Miranda has been with the Foot and Ankle Institute now for over 3 years. She has become quite the expert on insurance issues and business in the office. She is able to handle virtually any question that you may have concerning your insurance coverage, office policies, and otherwise.

Miranda is also a former Certified Nursing Assistant and has worked in the health fields either as an assistant or in the office for over nine years.

PATRICIA PITTMAN (Back Office)                     

Patricia has been with the Foot and Ankle Institute for over 2 years now. She is Dr. Ricotta's right hand in the back office treating patients. She helps the Doctor with all of his procedures and assists him with nearly every patient. She also happens to be a certified x-ray technician and is the one who takes all of the x-rays at the institution.
