S.C. Hopkins, M.D., FACS, FRCS, received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1976. He completed his surgical training with specialization in urological surgery at the McGill University Teaching Hospitals.

Dr. Hopkins was a research fellow in the department of urological surgery at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee, where he received specialized postgraduate training in surgical techniques to manage urological cancers.

In 1982, he was appointed chief of the urology department at the Tampa Veterans Administration Hospital and assistant professor of urology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

In 1986, Dr. Hopkins received a staff appointment to Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida, and established a private practice there. He specializes in urological cancers and surgical treatment of incontinence. He was the first surgeon in Southeast Florida to successfully perform the "continent diversion technique" which enables a person whose bladder is removed to urinate normally. He has also been performing minimally invasive procedures to successfully treat, problems of urine leakage in both men and women.

Dr. Hopkins is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urology, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, and the Palm Beach County Medical Society.

A recognized and experienced urological surgeon, Dr. Hopkins has authored and co-authored numerous studies and articles on urological cancers.
