Village Animal Clinic Joins
In Rescue and Adoption Efforts

Spring is here and so are all those cute and cuddly kittens that seem to appear with the season. An estimated 52 million dogs and 57 million cats live with families in the United States. However, the number of homeless pets is staggeringly high. We continue to encourage each and every one of our clients to sterilize their pets, as this is a proven way to reduce the number of unwanted animals born each day.

To further help these animals, we have developed an in-clinic adoption program. This program is directed by Penny (celebrating her 5th year with us) and assisted by all our loving staff here at our clinic.

Since we are first and foremost a veterinary hospital, we must limit the adoptable pets and puppies. When we take homeless pets in, we have the veterinarian examine them, perform lab tests, vaccinate them, and spay or neuter the  animal.

Dr. Berkenblit then takes the animals on his weekly program on WPTV Channel 5, which airs at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesdays. This has been a very successful way of helping homeless animals find a loving home. We ask that you keep our adoption program in mind if you're looking to add a healthy, happy canine or feline to your household, or if you have a friend or family member who is looking to add a four-legged friend to their family.
