Personal Injury
Have you been involved in an accident and sustained personal injuries? The Watson Law Firm may be able to help. Please call today for a free consultation regarding your case.

Social Security
The social security appeals process is at the outset long, confusing, and time consuming. If you have been turned down at the Initial Application or at Reconsideration for Social Security or Supplemental Security Income benefits, the time to appeal or continue your appeal may be extremely short. Any claimant has but 60 days from the date last denied to file the next stage of an appeal.

The Watson Law Firm has extensive experience handling socially security appeals and can help with the review of your case or representation in an appeal of a denial. Most social security cases can be handled on a contingent fee basis. There is no charge for your initial appointment to review your file. Please call us today.

Criminal Defense
Criminal offenses in SC are typically divided between those that arise in the Magisterial Court or the Court of General Sessions (Circuit Court). As a third venue for offenses, you may also be prosecuted in the Federal District Court by the US Attorney. Procedures used to protect your constitutional rights to a preliminary hearing, discovery, and trial by jury will vary significantly based upon the charge and venue.

Your time to request a preliminary hearing may be short. If you would like to discuss your case, the initial interview is at no cost and fees can be quoted after your case has been reviewed.

Driving Under the Influence
Driving under the influence in SC has several serious thresholds of consideration, including:
-whether or not you took or refused the breath test (Datamaster)
-what your reading was
- whether or not your license was taken on the spot because of your breath test results

In SC, you have a very short period of time from the day you are arrested to request an administrative hearing, if you are entitled to one, to preserve certain driving privileges.

You may engage the Watson Law Firm to represent you at administrative hearings concerning the suspension of your driving privileges. The Watson Law Firm handles the defense of people charged with driving under the influence or driving under suspension. If you would like to discuss the facts of your case with us, please call to set up an appointment.

Traffic Offenses
If you have been stopped for a traffic offense in SC and would like to discuss the resolution of that offense, please call. You can engage the Watson Law Firm to defend you if you are charged with traffic offenses within the state of South Carolina.

If you are an out of state driver charged with a traffic offense in the state of South Carolina you should be aware that your home state may participate in the non-resident violators compact (NRVC). How you dispose of an out of state traffic offense may have dire consequences on your driving record.

Domestic Relations
Family court matters are at their very best, a difficult and heart rendering area of law. If you are facing a divorce, contested custody, a question of paternity, or you wish to adopt a child, our firm is experienced in the representation of individuals with those legal issues.

If you are considering a divorce, SC recognizes only 5 grounds. They are: (1) adultery, (2) desertion for a period of one year; (3) physical cruelty; (4) habitual drunkenness, provided, that this ground shall be construed to include habitual drunkenness caused by the use of any narcotic drug; and (5) living separate and apart without cohabitation for a period of one year.

In South Carolina, most juveniles' charged with criminal offenses have their cases heard in the Family Court. You may retain the Watson Law Firm to represent a minor charged with a criminal offense.
